Self-Lubricating Bushings

Self-Lubricating Bushings

These bushings are called AST650 Series and are designed from either cast iron or bronze-based metal to withstand high load. Finely finished radial holes are embedded with a solid lubricant covering up to 30% of the working surface. During operation, this lubricant automatically deposits a film onto the rotating surface of the shaft. This makes the bushings particularly suitable for applications requiring extreme temperatures, high pressure or corrosive chemical or water conditions where no lubrication can be introduced.

AST’s new self-lubricating bushings offer superior performance without lubrication under severe temperatures (-100?C to +300?C for bronze metal) and (-40?C to +400?C for iron metal) and can handle a maximum load of 150N/mm2 and maximum speed of <1.00 m/s.

AST’s 650 Series of Bushings is suitable for such high-load, low-speed, high-temperature applications such as: iron and steel manufacturing equipment, automotive machinery, injection molding machines, food processing, paper, chemical and textile machinery and other heavy industrial applications.

A broad range of sizes and shapes are available, all manufactured in certified ISO9002 factories.

In addition, the AST650 Series Bushings offer:

  • Self lubrication capacity and extremely long life
  • High load, anti-wear and low-friction attributes
  • Suitable for extreme temperatures and low speed
  • Chemical resistant and anti-corrosive
  • Suitable for reciprocating, oscillating or intermittent motion where it is difficult to form an oil film

The AST650 Series Bushings are available in the USA exclusively from AST Bearings.
